Candice's Magical Mermaid Party
dessert table styling
Sammie Qian approached me to do Candice’s 3rd birthday months ago and we are so honored to be her stylist. The past couple of months have been crazy for us here at the studio but she really adjusted the party logistics just so we can be her stylist.
Candice wanted a mermaid party and we rocked this theme to its core, doing a spring take on it. Our designs were anchored on a combination of ombre marble, illustration, and florals because we wanted to accomplish a mixed media look at the party.
Our invite was light and fresh, highlighting that less is more. We translated this design into a 2D layered backdrop that incorporated flowers with under the sea visuals. The table had glimmering coral branches in pastel baskets and the most beautiful floral shell arrangements you could ever imagine.
Our Floral Director, Kay, really outdid herself for this party. We sourced the prettiest sea shells to act as vases for the flowers we got at the local flower market. We carefully scoured for the perfect flowers to go with the theme and palette, and Kay lovingly arranged these floral creations to grace our dessert table and dining tables for the party.
other styled areas
We usually style other areas for our clients with whatever we have in our inventory. In addition to a gorgeous balloon garland arch, we also did centerpieces and a little food table vignette and even styled the entrance.
We hung jelly fish lanterns covered in tulle and with beautiful ribbons and floral garlands hanging from each. We wanted to create a unique marker where kids and grownups alike know that they are entering the activity area.
For the centerpieces, we had little floral shells and combined it with these sparkling ornaments we have that looked like little corals. We also served mini donuts and put them on open shells. We took the time to design place cards with inspiring quotes and little paper mermaids for each seat.
For the food table vignette, we prepared custom framed signage flanked by little accents. We also designed custom food labels to go with Maggie and Rose’s delicious spread.
We created a custom entrance signage and did a mini balloon garland with some vines and branches for a whimsical effect.
And another highlight of the party was the macaron balloon arch we did for one of the space’s doors. Lighting was a challenge in the space (you’ll see it in the photos and video but we make do with the constraints we get) so we wanted to make sure there was another photo background the clients can enjoy during the party.
The beauty and mystery of the ocean fills our lives with wonders, vast beyond our imagination.
We are happy to announce that we have added videography as part of our services. We are so excited for this because videos add a whole new dimension to a family’s memorable milestone. Videos are the perfect match for our photos, capturing emotions and connections we see in the moment.
