The booking system aims to offer flexibility to clients where they need to pay the Creative Fee first and then for a Gallery Collection later once their photos are ready.

The Creative Fee is a time and talent fee to book a session with me. This includes all the preparation, communication, dedicated shooting time with me, the post processing work including culling and editing, resulting in the delivery of a carefully curated private online gallery shareable to friends and family. This covers much of the thoughtful planning and work that goes into every session.

When their gallery is ready, clients will receive their custom slideshow preview access and they can then purchase one of three Gallery Collections of their choice. This way, they can choose what inclusions they would like to get after getting a feel of the final product. Once they have done so, they will receive their full gallery access for 30 days and they can use this time to download digital files and use any print credit included in their Collection.

Your custom slideshow preview access is enabled for 24 hours to help you choose the Gallery Collection of your choice.

Your full gallery access lasts for 30 days and you can use this time to choose and save your digital files and use any print credit included.

Print credits need to be used before the expiry date.

While the online booking system allots 1 hour per session, it really varies. On average, it lasts around 1 hour for most families. Families with much older kids can end sooner while families with newborns can last around 90 minutes or so. Rest assured that we will cover this during our pre-shoot communication depending on the nature of your session.

Many families would like to do a maternity and newborn session combo OR just simply plan to do two sessions within a year to cover different types of milestones like, say, a cake smash + holiday session or back to school portraits + annual family photos.

The Stork Package is perfect for those who are looking to get all inclusive gallery files plus beautiful professional prints while getting the most value at the same time. With this combo package, you can save up to $3500 versus booking two separate sessions.

Because of the nature of the inclusions, the Stork package is an all-inclusive package that needs to be purchased as a whole.

Once purchased online, you will receive an email confirmation with a specific code and a booking link. You can use this code to schedule your sessions separately through the booking link. You don’t have to schedule the sessions in one go, as long as they are both done within a year of purchase. I do recommend booking at least 3 months before to get your preferred schedule.

It is recommended to book at least three (3) months before so you can get your preferred date. I have very limited slots so I tend to book out early.

I make it a point to be very responsive to my clients. Clients are welcome to message me via email or Whatsapp and I strive to reply within 24-48 hours. My administrative working hours are Monday to Friday, usually between 11am to 3pm as I shoot either in the morning or late afternoon. Rest assured I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I can also do a Zoom consult session or phone call should you wish to ask me more questions about my rates and the overall process.

Booked clients also get a Zoom meet and greet x prep call before their session so we can go over questions, outfits, locations, etc. They are also free to consult with me for any print products post-session.

I shoot all around Hong Kong. I do recommend choosing a location that means something to you - it will make your photos more meaningful. I will also share my favorites and recommendations so we do it somewhere that is perfect for you and your family.

I also have my studio, which is really great for a homey and intimate feel. I strongly recommend doing newborn sessions, 100 days and cake smashes in the studio because it has a lot of natural light that gives families beautiful timeless photos.

The Nestology aesthetic is heavily anchored on capturing authentic moments between you and your loved ones. I use a mixed portraiture and documentary approach using natural light during sessions.

Shoots will always be about how you and your loved ones naturally interact with each other. Genuine acts of love, playfulness, and warmth will always be the best "poses" and give you the most amazing photos!

Hair and makeup is not a must. It is not included in my rates. However, I have hair and makeup artists that I have worked with before and can recommend should you need and want one.

I believe in you showing up in clothes that you love and feel comfortable in. While I do not have a client wardrobe, I do provide a comprehensive session guide with outfit suggestions as part of our preparation and would be happy to jump on a call to discuss ideas, look at outfits or review Pinterest boards with you.

For HK Island and Kowloon shoots, travel fees are inclusive in the package prices. For New Territories and Outlying Islands, there will be an additional charge of $500.

If you have mementos and items that you absolutely cherish and would like me to capture, you are most welcome to bring them to the shoot. Some examples would be ultrasound photos, baby shoes, toys, heirloom jewelry, old photos of grandparents, etc.

Sometimes I get enquiries for newborn twins, longer family documentary shoots or couple engagement sessions that require a lot more time. You can let me know what you have in mind and I can send you a special rate that is best suited for your needs.

Outdoors

Hong Kong is beautifully blessed with great outdoor locations. For outdoor shoots, I recommend doing it during the two hours before sunset (usually between 4-6pm during fall/winter and 5-7pm during spring/summer) to give a warmer, golden tone to your photos.

My favorite however are sunrise sessions and typically they go between 6-8:30am. I would always recommend going earlier for soft, clean light and zero crowds.

A special note on urban shoots: I recommend doing urban shoots on Sunday mornings. Just request this during the pre-booking process so we can find a Sunday that works best.

Studio

In my studio, I also use natural light as I feel it gives you the most authentic photos. The studio is designed in a way to make it feel like home but with free space to take beautiful portraits or styled sets.

Home

Shooting at home can never go wrong. It is the place where you are most comfortable. Home shoots work especially well for intimate maternity sessions, newborn shoots, or for families with toddlers. The best time for a home shoot is when there is the most light pouring in through your windows.

For first pregnancies, I usually recommend doing this between 32-36 weeks so we can capture a prominent belly. For subsequent pregnancies, it could be earlier, at around 28-32 weeks, since women show sooner. However, women’s bodies are all different - so the rule of thumb is to do it when your belly is a good size but you feel comfortable and well enough to move around.

Most newborn photographers recommend doing it within 2 weeks after birth, with 10 days being the most popular time. This period is when your baby is sleepiest and posing babies will be much easier. You get more shots focused on your little one during this period. Also, that newborn look is fleeting since babies change their appearance really fast so documenting this newborn phase will be priceless.

With that said, I do not do stylized newborn poses much and really focus on natural family interaction more. I have many moms and dads who request to do their newborn shoot later, ranging from 3 to 6 weeks. Babies are chubbier and moms have recovered from delivery by then.

You can also choose to do a 100 day milestone session instead and it’s one of my favorite sessions too since babies smile and laugh more.

At the end of the day, it will depend on your preference of what you would like to capture. I try my best to be as flexible as possible for my families so you can choose a date first and once the baby is born, you can reach out to me if you wish to change your schedule and I will do my best to accommodate you based on my availability.

Your slideshow preview access will be sent via email within 3-4 weeks after your session. You will then have full gallery access for 30 days.

All prints and products will be delivered to your delivery address as soon as they are ready. This is all done by third-party international print labs so it will be dependent on their production and shipping lead times.

Rescheduling due to (i) weather conditions, (ii) family emergency / sickness / illness / health concerns (with medical certificate), or (iii) government-related or issued regulatory requirements is completely fine. The new schedule will be based on both of our availability.

I thoughtfully try not to retouch as my style and philosophy is to capture families authentically during a given moment in time. Rest assured though that all digital images are edited in my style, which would include basic retouching of minor blemishes.
